The sweet potato originates in the tropical areas of the Americas. As opposed to its namesake (the potato), the sweet potato is a bindweed that is more closely related with morning glory than with the actual potato.
There is a wide variety of sweet potatoes. They are all rich in vitamins A and C. Sweet potatoes are more difficult to store than regular potatoes and their perfect storage temperature is at about 13 degrees Celsius. But given our exciting recipes here, a long storage should anyways not be necessary.
